Where the Red Fern Grows is a book about a boy name Billy Coleman and he wanted a Redound Coonhound but his family couldn't bye one cause his family is poor and then he saw a ad he found while looking for things to sell at his grandpa's store at a spot where fisherman were and so he saved up money to pay for the 2 coonhounds and he saved it up for 2 years and had enough but he didn't know if he could get them now but with his grandpa's help and it turns out the seller had lowered the price and Billy more then enough and he wanted to surprises his family.

So billy walk all the way there and all the way back and he bought things for his family since he still had enough money after getting the hound's and he named his dogs Little Anne and Old Dan and then there was a competition to hunt coons but before there was kids that made a bet to Billy and his grandpa but a accident happens. Then after a few years the dogs got older and then somethings happens to Old Dan and then Little Anne. Where the Red Fern Grows is such a good but sad book I cried for what happens to the dogs.
